Getting Over My Fear Of Cropping

Cropped Little Birdie

Wee Little Birdie

While going through old photos this weekend, I found not one but TWO folders of unedited pictures.

What in the world was I thinking?

I found this cute picture of a little bird, and while it’s at full size and taking up my screen the picture is awesome. But when I edited it to make it the size for the website then it was not as awesome. I needed to crop.

Here’s the thing though. I hate to crop pictures. Mostly because I think the overall picture is generally good and I don’t want to lose any of the photos impact when I crop.

Luckily on this picture cropping didn’t take away anything, well except for some blurry background grass. I need to start experimenting with cropping more often, and learn how to crop and achieve more impact rather than losing it.

Looks great! I have a fear of cropping sometimes to, but I love the little birdie and think the cropped image allows your eyes to focus on the bird – not the background. Well done!! šŸ™‚
