Canon Beach – Landscapes

Low Tide Beach

Rocky Landscape

Over Labor Day weekend my girlfriend and I decided we both really needed to have a day at the beach. So we ditched our husbands, grabbed some sandwiches and cookies, and headed to the coast. We ended up on Canon beach which is my friend’s favorite beach. We both find the waves very calming and being close to something so vast and powerful is a great way to help ease the work day anxieties.

Of course my camera bag was taken along with minimal equipment: 55-200mm zoom + hood, 18-55mm kit lens, extra battery, and extra memory card. It is nice not to carry around tons of stuff in my bag so I got to take my smallest camera bag (the one I made myself, thank you very much). It was all that was needed, especially on such a glorious day!

The day was sorely needed, but in the end I was just plain old sore! My feet were killing me, I think I pulled a muscle in my calf, I got quite crispy burned even though I wore sunscreen (spf 50 is a lie!) and I just wanted to collapse but in a good way. I’m still nursing the burn a little bit and my feet/legs were hurting for days afterwards, but it was a great trip. The one thing I was surprised about was that my trigger finger wasn’t tired, which was a shock since I had taken 500 pictures! What! So bear with me, I’ve taken my favorites and am only sharing those, but that still turned out to be a huge amount of pictures.
